Beer coolers come in all shapes and sizes. For young adults they are the top accessory to have before going for an outing at the beach. Family picnics and gatherings also tend to see their fair share of coolers. Attend nearly any sporting event that allows coolers and you'll be sure to find them. If personal items are not typically allowed within an event, patrons will tailgate in the parking lot with their coolers until it's time to watch the show. This is a tradition many concert goers practice to get them in the right frame of mind before entering the stadium to watch a performance. Yes, coolers and the drinks they carry are a great part of many of the fun things we do in life.

Coolers for beer also have their place in the business world. How do you think those beers at your favorite restaurant stay so cool? Commercial establishments use a variety of cooler types for keeping beer cool. Special coolers designed specifically for beer bottles are standard in most bars. You might recognize these when you see a bartender reach down into what looks like the top of the counter to retrieve your order. These coolers are specially designed to hold several cases of bottles and keep them at the perfect serving temperature. Of course that temperature is quite cold as judged by the claims many places have of "coldest beer in town."

In addition to bottle coolers, bars and restaurants that offer draft beer need special coolers to hold kegs. Yes, those large round kegs you may remember from college parties are the very same ones served from behind the bar. They just have their own special cooler and an upgraded tap for more uniform serving. Many businesses also feature large coolers with glass doors so that the products can be viewed. This serves a couple of purposes. First, it allows customers to have a good view of what is offered and serves almost as a menu and second, it allows the server to locate the beer before opening the door resulting in less cold air escaping. All in all, there is a lot more to beer coolers than most people ever would imagine.
